To celebrate our 8th year anniversary as a couple, Mio and I decided to watch a movie with big burgers in our table and just sit back and relax infront of a computer monitor.
Between Shutter Island and The Plague, I chose the latter. Why? Because I've always been fond with these types of movies where it seems like the end of the world. I don't know how you are going to categorize it. I know Shutter Island can wait. :)
It was interesting at the beginning. I was hooked actually but as the movie ends it seems like the story is going nowhere else. Some characters are even confusing like Kip and Claire where we thought at first were siblings but turned out to be a couple in the end.
"Last night I dreamt I was lowered to slumber in the hands of children.
They whispered in my ear, and the words are familiar.
"The kingdom of heaven is near, and should anyone offer their soul
to one of these children, he will deliver those who,
through fear, are subject to slavery all their lives." "

These lines has been said more than once. Sure it said someone has to offer their soul to end The Plague and Tom did it. Just that it wasn't clear if he died or that he became one of them. What were the prayers for? What happened to the Doctor and the Priest who didn't willingly give up their souls but still prayed over by these children?

I was researching for the movie poster when I chanced upon Obscurehorror's website and his review of The Plague. Surprisingly, we both almost have a similar opinion on this. Calling those who were able to watch this also, please voice out your opinion about the ending. LOL! Like what he said: "...it's not remotely clear, by a long shot!"
Clearly not happy with the movie,
Princess Abbie
